A leading sextet on the opening day
31.08.2023
The first round of the Omega European Masters ends with six men in the lead. With all of them having shot a 63 (-7), Friday's round promises to be exciting.
The sextet includes two British players, Matt Fritzpatrick and Eddie Pepperell. Spain's Elvira Nacho, Malaysia's Gavin Green, Japan's Masahiro Kawamura and Denmark's John Axelsen complete the leading group.
Jimenez and Aberg in the mix
The talented young Swede Ludvig Aberg shows that we can count on him. Taking part in the Omega European Masters for the first time, he seems to have adopted the golf course well.
Miguel Àngel Jiménez, 36 years his senior, completes the Top 10 on this first day. An icon in the world of golf, and having already competed on numerous occasions at the OEM, the veteran of the tournament and the darling of the public is determined to show that he still has a place among the best players.
